Join Our Team
At the Coalition for Compassionate Schools (CforCS), we are committed to building the capacity of school, students, and parents to create transformative change in education through the adoption, implementation, and sustainment of trauma-informed, healing-centered practices.

About CforCS
At CforCS we operate using six core values that define how we engage with our partners, each other, and the work that we do. These values guide each team member and support us in staying aligned to our mission and vision.
Our values are:
- Equity: We prioritize fairness and inclusion and recognize the importance of incorporating the voices of those who have experienced marginalization. We ensure that all individuals–regardless of their background or experience–have access to supportive, healing-centered, and developmentally appropriate environments that meet their unique needs and provide opportunities to thrive.
- Continuous Learning: We embrace an ongoing commitment to reflection, growth, and adaptation, understanding that transformative change requires responsiveness to evolving research and best practices in trauma, healing, and education. We use data and ground-up approaches—learning directly from students, families, and schools—to continuously develop, refine, and adapt our programming to meet the needs of our partners.
- Collaboration & Mutuality: We foster strong partnerships grounded in trust, shared power, and accountability, recognizing that healing happens in relationships. Through open and respectful communication, we co-create safe, supportive learning spaces that reflect the needs, voices, and brilliance of every individual, honoring them as experts in their own experiences.
- Compassion and Holistic Well-being: We approach every interaction with empathy, dignity, and care, striving to support the emotional, mental, and physical wellbeing of students, staff, and families. We recognize healing as a whole-person process and prioritize practices that nurture connection, safety, and restoration across all levels of the school community.
- Accountability: We hold ourselves and our partners responsible for upholding these values and for creating environments where transparency, trust, and integrity guide every decision. We are committed to consistent reflection and action that prioritizes the safety, healing, and wellbeing of all students and school communities.
- Advocacy: We champion systems change and educational reform by amplifying the voices and leadership of those impacted by trauma. Through our work, we advocate for policies and practices that dismantle inequities and promote healing-centered, equity-driven, and community-rooted school systems.
